A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Back in 2005 I received the debut full-length, “Woven in the Book of Hate”, of a Spanish band called Scent of Death. Hell, we even interviewed back then (interview done by Martin Beukman). All this back in the day we were called Vampire Magazine and were a webzine. Quite funny that some bands instantly find you again when you start a new fanzine after all those years. With “Woven in the Book of Hate” Scent of Death didn’t hide their admiration towards Morbid Angel, Immolation and Hate Eternal. And on “Of Martyrs’s Agony and Hate” the admiration continues. For example you can hear some Morbid Angel’s “Formulas Fatal to the Flesh” influences on “Ego te Provoco”. The Death Metal presented by Scent of Death is brutal, technical and a bit dark. To be honest, nothing you haven’t heard before. But it’s very well played and executed and therefore enjoyable. Put them on a tour with Hour of Penance and I think you will give the fans of the genre a nice evening. (Ricardo)
